Sims 3 Released On Xbox 360, PS3 And Nintendo DS

The Sims 3
If you’re a fan of the Sims series of games, you’ve probably played Sims 3 for PC by now. It’s been available on the market since the beginning of the year. But recently, Electronic Arts took the next step and released the game for consoles and portable gaming devices. The list includes Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s DS and Sims 3 for all of the above will become available at various retailers during this week. It’s obviously been adapted to consoles and will offer certain special features, achievements and for the first time in history, full life simulation on the Nindendo DS console.
According to EA’s executive producer Ben Bell, Sims fans have been awaiting for the next generation release of console and handheld games for the series and the company has been working extremely hard to deliver the most robust The Sims experience to date. I’ll quickly sum up the main attraction of the Sims 3. It’s a strategic life simulation video game which allows its players to create “sims” which are virtual humans you can control and help to evolve from multiple points of view. The game is already available for the iOS, Windows Phone 7, WebOS, Android, Windows and Mac OS X.

The Sims 3 by Maxis can now be found for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo DS
Much like its predecessors, Sims 3 offers a lot of sims customization. For the first time in history you can actually make your sims fatter or slimmer and I’ve personally had a blast making sims in a neighborhood as diverse and individualistic as possible. In the same version of the game you’ll also discover a “Story Progression” feature which basically allows all of the sims in a neighborhood to autonomously continue just as if the player was controlling them and grow up, get married, get new jobs and get promoted, have children, form families and more, even though the player is playing with some other sims and families.
On the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 the same basic set of rules applies. Players will get to create their own Sims and control their lives in an achievement-based guided gameplay system according to Digital Trends. Once they manage to accomplish something impressive, they’ll be able to share it with friends on the most popular social networks such as Facebookand Twitter (as I previously noted, it seems like everything will have Facebook integration in the near future). Those achievements will also allow players to earn Karma points which can be traded for Karma Powers.
The player can then use those either to make everyone’s life better or considerably more annoying. A feature called “epic fail” will actually eliminate all of the Sims’ motivations. Above everything, Sims was designed to be the type of game where you create and share content with other players. That’s why for all editions of Sims you could simply go online, download new clothes, furniture and random other content. On console it’s also possible to design and share various creations and get new content from other players. All of this can be done without leaving the game.
On Nintendo DS things get even better. On top of customizing Sims, players will be able to use the house styling tools including creating walls, floors or customizing objects. A complex create a sim menu will allow the customization of a sim’s facial features, hair, clothing or personality. While in a Story Mode, a whole family of sims can be controlled and organized. Sims 3 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 is rated T for “Teen” while the version for the DS is E, as in “Everyone”. The game will become available in the US tomorrow while in Europe it’ll start shipping a couple of days later, on October 29. EA also plans to release the game for Nintendo Wii in mid-November.
