People nowadays got used to taking it all for granted and spending large amounts of money daily for things they shouldn’t pay for but they do, out of comfort, lack of time or interest. But if you want to be a green activist in a big city and reduce your carbon footprint upon the environment, or if you just want to save some money for other things, you should take into consideration these small ways to improve your daily lifestyle:

1. Make your daily caffeine fix at home, and carry it with you

Don’t go buying coffee everytime if you feel like because it’s a waste of money, time and plastic containers. Try doing your own coffee at home, exactly the way you like it and carry it with you in special recipients that will keep it warm all day long.

2. Use that lunch box

Stop complaining about restaurant prices and bring your own lunch at work using a lunch box, or the one your son already has.  About $100 per month you would safe if you’d do your meals at home and stop ordering takeout. Not to mention the packaging you’d save.

3. Bike ride or walk to your food market

Or, why not, even further? Take some minutes off daily to walk to your local food market for small groceries or even give your car a rest and start walking to the office or downtown as much as you can. Besides saving much money monthly for the gas, you’ll also improve your health and lose some weight.11
