The South Korean army dropped leaflets on the North Korean territory in which they were informing the population of the Communist regime about the unrest in the Middle East, advising the people to follow suit and revolt against the rule of Kim Jong-il.
The leaflets recount the way the Egyptian regime was toppled, and how the crowds were attacked by the regime of Muammar al-Qaddafi in Libya.
Then, it is explained that the “dictatorial regimes are destined to collapse,” according to Song Young Sun, a South Korean member of the Parliament, which informed the media in an e-mail statement.
He explains that the leaflets were attached to balloons that distributed the cargo upon bursting.

South Korea sent about 3 million leaflets over the border with the North Korea in a renewed “psychological warfare.”
The Korean Central News Agency, the state-run media agency in North Korea, did not report anything about the developments in the Arab world.
The same thing was done by neighboring China, which had to block phone messages and websites in order to prevent the people from receiving the messages sent out by activists in exile, who were demanding the organization of similar movements to those in the Middle East and the Northern Africa.
The defense ministry in Seoul did not make any comment on the member of Parliament’s statement.
Meanwhile, South Korean government has not been able to confirm whether the leaflets led to any manifestations in the neighboring country.
Seoul has decided to resume sending rice, clothing, radios and medicine to the people of the North, who have been starving for years.
