Stephen Hawking Explains Universe Creations Without God
“The Grand Design” is the new book that the British theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking, just launched and in which he says that God did not create the Universe and it all happened because if the “Bing Bang” which was an inevitable consequence of the laws of physics.Of course, such a book will definitely start some debates being kind of controversial, such as most issues regarding the link between science and religion. However, the author and Leonard Mlodinow, the co-author of “The Grand Design”, says that today there are many new theories that show the fact that a creator of the universe is impossible to exist.
“Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist,” he wrote being quoted by The Times. “It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going,” Hawking added.
On what he bases these affirmations? Well, it seems that Stephen Hawking was helped by the discoveries made in 1992. Then scientists have found that there is another planet orbiting another star different from than the Sun and so, Hawking considers “That makes the coincidences of our planetary conditions — the single Sun, the lucky combination of Earth-Sun distance and solar mass, far less remarkable, and far less compelling evidence that the Earth was carefully designed just to please us human beings.”
Hawking claiming that the Universe forming can be explained without the presence of God caused a serial of critics. “Because gravity shapes space and time, it allows space-time to be locally stable but globally unstable. On the scale of the entire universe, the positive energy of the matter can be balanced by the negative gravitational energy, and so there is no restriction on the creation of whole universes,” Hawking wrote and some consider that he is not actually explaining how it really happened in his latest book.
Anyway, Hawking dedicated his life to research and you should know that he is only speaking through “a computer-generated voice synthesizer”. The famous physician has been almost completely paralyzed because of a neuro muscular dystrophy that he has been struggling with since his 20s. Probably because of the disease that has been getting worse with the years, Hawking gave up his position as Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University in 2009, position that he had it since 1979.
