Susan Boyle, the new star of the TV show “Britain’s Got Talent” with perform for Pope Benedict XVI while he will be visiting Scotland next moth, according to a press release by the Catholic Church in Scotland on Wednesday.
The church spokesman declared back in June that negotiations are taking place with the singer for her performance.
The Pope will visit the U.K., England and Scotland in September, from 16 to 19.
So Susan Boyle will sing three times in Glasgow, on Thursday September 16, at the Bellahouston Park, as says the Scottish Catholic Media Office. She will also be singing on open air at the Mass with the 800 strong choir.
For the pre-mass program she has planned the “How Great Thou Art: hymn and also her special song that got her famous in April 2009, “I Dreamed a Dream”. This song is from “Les Miserables”.
She said: “To be able to sing for the pope is a great honor and something I’ve always dreamed of — it’s indescribable. I think the 16th of September will stand out in my memory as something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve always wanted to sing for His Holiness and I can’t really put into words my happiness that this wish has come true at last.”
She even said that her mother, dead now, has been in 1982 in the same Glasgow park, when Pope John Paul II visited.

She will also sing a song of good bye for the pope at the end of the mass, when he’ll be going back to London, as the church declared.
But this is a huge event, considering that it is the first visit a pontiff make to the United Kingdom, because the visit that John Paul II did in 1982 was a pastoral visit, while this is said to be a papal visit, according to the British Foreign Office
Pope Benedict’s visit to the U.K. includes a visit with Queen Elizabeth II at the Holyroodhouse Palace in Edinburgh, Scotland, then a speech in the London Parliament and a Mass in Coventry, for beatifying the Cardinal John Henry Newman, 19th century educationalist and theologian.
Susan Boyle, shocked both the audience and the judges on “Britain’s Got Talent” last year with her stunning performance. So that made her into a global TV star, with big appearances, a lot of fans and a record contract.
The song “I Dreamed a Dream”, performed by her was a blockbuster and became the most pre ordered CD in the history of Amazon.com, even though she was a runner-up for the show’s finale.11
