Teen Choice Awards 2010
Teen Choice Awards 2010 just happened. The event took place in Los Angeles and was hosted by Katy Perry. It was quite a show. The 26 years old singer changed about seven outfits during the whole event and got her inspiration from Twilight, but, since the movie got 11 awards, you can imagine that already was in the center of attention. Katy Perry herself got two awards at Teen Choice Awards 2010 for her “California Girls” single in the Choice Single and Choice Summer Song category.Because of the whole “vampire” image of the new show, many publications wrote today that maybe the name of the event should be chanced in “Vampire Choice Awards”. However, it seems that vampires are definitely in trends since “The Twilight Saga” received 12 awards, while “The Vampire Diaries” got seven. And Katy Perry had to be fitted to the theme, so she used vampire inspired clothing pieces in one of her outfits, because as she said on the stage “This is what this night is all about, Vampires.” Well, even though the singer didn’t limit herself to such clothes, she had some crazy ideas. Katy Parry used a prom queen outfit, she had a donning hippie garb, but also a geek one, and of course the night ended with the host wearing a cheerleader costume. “Tonight is my chance to go back to high school,” said Katy Perry and all her outfits represented different “characters” you can find in any high school.
Well, when it comes to the famous “Twilight” movie, the main two male actors, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson were the starts of the evening, getting more than one award. Robert Pattinson got fours prices, and just one was for his part in “Remember Me” all the other being given for the “vampire role”. However, it seems that Taylor Lautner is gaining more and more fans. Will he manage to overpass Robert Pattinson popularity?
More than 85 million votes opted for their favorite celebrities and gave them online their support. In the winners’ category besides the actors already mentioned we have to also name Selena Gomez, who received an award in music and one in television category.
Sandra Bullock also got an award. Well, in fact she got three awards for the best actress in a drama, a comedy and for the best dance in the comedy “The Proposal” with Betty White. The 46 years old actress opted for simple outfit formed by some black pants, grey top and high heels. Betty White, the 88 years old actress, was also considered to still be really cool by the voters and the moment of giving the award to the two very talented actresses was really appreciated.
So, as you can see, nominees and winners are not only teen or young people. Anyone can receive a price. A really nice thing about Teen Choice Awards is that they are kind of original, but still inspired from the most famous awards given in music or movie industry. For example, there is a red carpet, but it is not actually red, it is blue.
But who else got awarded? Justin Bieber as you can imagine already, got also more than one award. Choice Pop Album, Choice Male Artist and Choice Summer Music Star were the categories in which Justin was voted to be the best.
Taylor Swift, Eminem, Miley Cyrus and Usher were also on the list when it comes to music. In the television category “Gossip Girl”, “The Vampire Diaries”, Pretty Little Liars” and “American Idol” got most awards. And in the movies’ category, besides “The Twilight Saga’s Eclipse”, “The Proposal”, “The Last Song”, “Avatar” and “Date Night” were also on the list.
Well, don’t you think that someone is missing? Lady Gaga could not be missing from the awarded people’s list, although she wasn’t there at the ceremony. She got the Choice Summer Music Star and Choice Female Artist awards. And when you receive an award, you must celebrate it. And Lady Gaga did. She and her boyfriend Luc Carl were seen passionately kissing while relaxing in a hotel pool this weekend. So, it seems that even if Lady Gaga wrote the song “Bad Romance” inspired from their relationship, things are not that bad, don’t you think?11
