The Biggest Conspiracy Theories

Many conspiracies have been made over the course of the year, some being crazier than the others. From Elvis Presley, to J.F. Kennedy, and to the moon landing, these conspiracies managed to survive, and they are still debated nowadays. Conspiracies exists, in fact any criminal activity can be considered a conspiracy against something. However there are many conspiracy theorists that see something hidden in everything. These are the most common conspiracy theories.

Almost everyone hates the companies which produce pharmaceutical products. The drugs cost too much, the companies that make them get rich, while the people are dying, in some cases because of the drugs which they have bought from the greedy companies. This is the conspiracy of the “Big Pharma”, and it drew attention for tens of years. There are people who believe that the drug companies are actually making the people sick in order to sell their products. These people believe that there are actually different ways of curing a disease, or that some diseases can be cured, only that the companies do not want to release the products.

There are many conspiracies about the satanic cults as well. At the end of the 1980s and at the beginning of the 1990s there were many murders which terrified the entire America. Children accused the adults that they abused and tortured them, and the media went crazy about these stories. It was believed that these people worshipped Satan, and that their crimes belonged to a strange satanic ritual. One of the biggest supporters of these accusations was Geraldo Rivera, the well known TV person. He aired a TV special entitles “Devil Worship: Exposing Satan’s Underground,” which aired on Oct. 28, 1988. The special was huge, and it had the highest audience ever. He said that there are more than 1 million Satanists in America, and that they have a double life, that anyone might be a Satanist, and so on. The problem is that he brought no evidence to back up this claim. People were alarmed by the claim, and saw Satanists everywhere. Four years later the police declared that the widespread allegations of crimes committed by Satanists represent one of the biggest hoaxes ever.

The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion is a book which appeared in 1905 in Russia, and it talks about a Jewish conspiracy to achieve world domination. The idea is nothing new; in fact it was supported by Henry Ford and Mel Gibson. Hitler also used information from this book when he wrote Mein Kampf.

Both the experts and the skeptics believed that something crashed near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. The government initially stated that it was a saucer and then that it was a weather balloon. The clues indicated that the Project Mogul, a high-altitude, top-secret military balloon crashed there. The alien craze started in the 70s when a book was written about the incident, and since then the conspiracies regarding the alien crash do not stop.

One of the biggest conspiracies in the world is related to John F. Kennedy’s assassination. The president was killed in 1963 in Dallas. It has been acknowledged that Lee Harvey Oswald killed the president, but the people started to debate the incident. Who helped him? Who have him the orders? Was there a second killer? These were just some of the most common questions which the people asked, and still ask. The House Select Committee stated in 1979 that there were two shooters.

Another conspiracy involving a celebrity is the one regarding Paul McCartney’s death. The former Beatles member died in 1966, but the conspiracy theorists believe that the remaining member of the groups hired a look-alike to replace him. They believed that the rest of the members did not want to share the news, but they left clues about his death in the same time. One example is the Abbey Road album cover, in which Paul is the only one barefoot.

The moon landing is one of the biggest achievements in the history of the world. If we did land on in, that is. Many people believe that the moon landing did not actually happen, that it was just a hoax. There are numerous web pages such as BadAstronomy.com which have tens of pages dedicated to the moon landing in which they want to prove that the moon landing was a hoax.

You should stop watching TV right now, because according to the conspiracy theorists, what you see on TV is full of subliminal advertising. Numerous books regarding this subject have been written, and the conspiracies do not stop. They say that the “man” can make you buy a product simply by placing a subliminal message during a movie. It’s good that they do not urge the people to kill or stea… Oh wait, the rock stars have been accused of placing subliminal messages in their songs, but get this, the only way of listening to them was to listen to the track backwards. Not to subliminal isn’t it?

Another conspiracy which involves a celebrity is the death of Princess Diana. Her death shocked the entire world, especially since she was one of the kindest persons, always helping the poor, and performing acts of generosity. How could she die because of a drunken driver? According to Al-Fayed, the father of Dodi Al-Fayed, who was killed along with Diana, the accident was an assassination performed by the British intelligence agencies. The conspiracy did not stand, because the ones in charge with investigating the incident stated that there are no clues which lead to a possible murder.

I guess you saw this one coming. The biggest conspiracy is the one involving the 9/11 incident. It was a conspiracy, as the attack was carefully planned. However, many people believe that the U.S government is the one that ordered the attack for different reasons. Others say that the president was warned about the attack, but that he allowed it to happen. Flight 77 is one of the biggest mysteries, because is seems that the Pentagon was not hit by it.
