What do you thing a king is meant to do or its meant t be. What does actually mean being a king?We all had seen movies where the kings were the rulers of a kingdom or land and had all the power in his hands. He had loyal subject that were willing to die for him and enemies that tried to conquer his castle and lands to make them theirs.
The king was the bravest off them all and showed a good example to the people so they could identify with him and respect him as a ruler. There were times when the king was overwhelmed by all the problems and enemies striking his kingdom, so the people were brave and fought to protect the lands.
Other rulers were merciless and tortured the people and taking from them even the food that they had on the tables because they were thirsty for power and wanted their subjects to live in fear and know that in that land only one man had the right to live a good life.
But what about the modern times when being a king or a queen is something symbolic that give people hope and they see a model in the person behind the name. We all need symbolic rulers so we know that there are people that want us to live well and have decent lives for us and our families.
How about the movies that show us how someone becomes a king? What it takes to get the throne and keep it safe from enemies and plots that are happening at the imperial court almost all the time. When someone is the right heir then something unexpected happens and the current ascendant is on the verge of losing his rights due to the others believes.
When someone in the royal family is found unworthy of taking the throne the other relatives and counselors will do everything possible no to let the person take the throne as its rightful owner.
The movie that speaks this sort of things is the movie The King’s Speech which shows us how a ruler had a stammer problem and was not considered indicated to rule a kingdom. He hired a speech therapist to help him with his problem, going by the name of Lionel Logue. After the techniques that the therapist uses with George he manages to regain his speech and lead his country like a true king.
