The Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle is a very strange place, and the mystery surrounding it, started in 1945, when a squadron of five Navy Avenger airplanes disappeared over the area. Soon afterwards people started making theories about the reasons for the disappearance of the planes in the triangle between Miami, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Since then more and more theories about the Bermuda Triangle have been created and these are the most popular of them.

Some say that 11,000 years ago a comet crashed in the ocean in the area of the Bermuda Triangle. The scientists have said that the comet might have certain electromagnetic properties which might cause the planes to crash and the ships to sink. So far no one has managed to find the comet, and the chances are that it will never be found, even if it exists. The area is simply too large.

Some say that the reasons for all the disappearances are the pirates. That’s right, pirates, as the ones you have seen in the Johnny Depp movie. It is a known fact that piracy is a big problem there, and I am not talking about internet downloading. One question needs to be asked: How can pirates make planes disappear? Well the experts say that the pirates can only make the ships disappear, and not the planes.

There are some people who have said that the methane gas is the reason for the disappearing. According to them, the area contains bubbles of methane gas which would be released in the case of an earthquake. If they would be released then the density of the water would be reduced. Because of that, the ships would lose their buoyancy, and as a result, they would sink into the water. The methane gas could also raise way high into the air, and it might cause damage to the engines of the planes. The Bermuda Triangle is not the only plane in the world where large concentrations of methane gas exist, and there are other places which have larger concentrations of the gas. It is unknown if they have the power of crashing a plane or of sinking a ship.

In 1970, Bruce Gernon, who is a pilot from Florida, and his father were en route from Andros Island to Bimini Island which is located in the Bahamas. They said that they saw a strange cloud that turned into a tunnel all of a sudden. They called the tunnel, “the time vortex”, or the “electronic fog”. It seems that Gernon flew straight into the time vortex, which is strange because no one would do that. Anyway he said that while he was in the vortex, the plane equipment stopped working. When he got out of the mystery tunnel, he was miles away from the place where he was supposed to be, and he said that he could not have covered that distance in such short amount of time. He was convinced that he flew into a time travel tunnel. He might have done that, or he might have simply lied about the whole incident.

According to some, the government is responsible for everything that happens, just like in the case of many other mysteries. It seems that the government has created the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center, and it is something similar to the Area 51. It seems that the base is located on the Bahamas’ Andros Island, and at the base they are testing weapons, and many other secret devices. Some say that the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center works with the aliens, and that they test weapons which they have received from our outer space friends.

Speaking of aliens, some say that the aliens are responsible for everything bad that happens in the area. It is believed that the Bermuda Triangle is a portal for interplanetary, interdimensional creatures. In case you did not know, Japan has one too, so the aliens could visit various placed from Earth. Since the aliens can come on our planet via the portal, we can go to theirs via the portal as well. It is said that when the planes and the ships go missing they have accidentally went through the door.

It is also believed that the reason for the disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle is Atlantis, the famous lost city. It is said that the city used certain crystals in order to obtain energy (I’m not joking). These crystals are responsible for interfering with the planes and with the ships, because they make them stop working. One has even claimed that he found a pyramid below in the water, but he does not have proof. Don’t worry, we believe you! Anyway, the lanes might crash because the equipment stops working, but why do the ships sink? That beats me.

This one is less strange than the other explanations. It is said that the weather is responsible for the disappearances, and it is a known fact that the area is prone to sever storms. The area is often hit by hurricanes and there is also the Gulf Stream. The underwater terrain is hazardous too, as it has the biggest depth in the entire Atlantic Ocean. If a ship or a plane would encounter such events, it would have very slim chances of surviving, because no matter how well built the plane or the ship is, the storms, and the hurricanes would be too powerful.

This one makes the biggest sense: human error. The Bermuda Triangle has tropical weather crystal blue water, which makes it very difficult for any pilot to fly, no matter how experienced he is. The area has lots of traffic, and like I said, there are numerous weather conditions which might cause the plane to crash and the ships to sink. It is very easy for the pilots to become disoriented, or to try to avoid the bad weather. If they fly to off from the area, then they might not be able to return because of the lack of fuel. These are the most common explanations about the Bermuda Triangle Disappearances.
