The Royal Wedding of Monaco Goes On As Scheduled

The Royal Couple of Monaco

The royal house of Monaco announced on Wednesday that there shall be no legal action taken against L’Express magazine, who published on its website that the royal couple had problems and that there were rumors about the cancellation of the wedding that is scheduled to start on Friday, and is announced to be an event of continental scope, in spite of the fact that the state is one of the smallest in Europe.

On Tuesday, Prince Albert II and Charlene Wittstock appeared in public relaxed and smiling, in the company of Jean-Michel Jarre, who is preparing the free concert scheduled for July 1, the day of the civil marriage.

The house announced that there would be no lawsuit nor any summons for the magazine that wrote that the bride of Albert intended to interrupt the preparations and return to her own country, South African Republic, for reasons that were not clarified.

The prince admitted that he intended to warn the magazine but as they withdrew the information from the website, the conflict is over.

The information was still on the website on Wednesday morning, and the editors of the L’Express said that the assignment received by them from the royal house did not imply the deletion of the information but rather the presenting of evidence to back up the claims, which the magazine cannot disclose due to confidentiality clauses.

The royal wedding is scheduled to start on July 1, and will have as guests illustrious personalities of the international political landscape and members of royal houses, such as Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France, the Queen and King of Sweden and their three children, the President of the Irish Republic, the President of Lebanon, the President of Germany, the King of Belgium, the Princess of the Royal House of Romania, and other personalities.

The wedding will start with the civil marriage, which will take place on Friday, and will continue with the religious marriage, which will take place on Saturday.

Charlene Wittstock was born on 25 January 1978, and is a South African Olympic backstroke swimmer.

Her relations with Prince Albert II started in 2006, and they were seen together for the first time at the opening ceremony of the 2006 World Olympics.
