The psychologists have states that a kiss has a way deeper purpose than we imagined.
The men and the women usually kiss in different manners, as the kiss represents something different for each of them. The men will kiss in a much sloppier manner than the women do, whereas the women are mainly interested in maintaining the kiss as much as possible. According to psychologist Susan Hughes, who works at Albright College in Pennsylvania, men kiss in order to reach sex. They kiss the women in order to make them aroused and to make them willing to have sex. Women on the other hand, kiss in order to feel connected to the men. They do it in order to create a bind between them and the men, and to see if they have the potential of being soul mates. Many would have said the same thing, that men are mainly interested in sex whereas women in romance, but this is the first time when the claim has been backed up by scientific facts. She and her fellow colleagues had more than 1,000 volunteers, both males and females who were asked to reveal information about the way in which they prefer to kiss. She asked them various questions, and they had to choose one of the five point scaled answers.
It was discovered that kissing is considered to be a very intimate process by both the men and the women. Both of them use kissing in order to analyze the partner and to see if they are compatible or not. Both of the sexes have also stated that the way in which the partner kisses is very important. Some have said that their relationships got stronger because of the kissing, whereas some said that they broke up with people because those people did not know how to kiss. The scientists have stated that it is very likely that certain biochemical signals are released during the kissing and that we base our decision using the information provided by those biochemical signals. The reason why we not enjoy a kiss is because our mind subconsciously tells us that the biochemical signals of the partner are not good. It has been discovered that we use our noses in order to analyze the partner as well. The nose can detect certain smells which are analyzed at a subconscious level. It seems that we are able to detect if the partner is sick or healthy, and the men can even detect if a woman is ovulating or not. The skin which is located around the nose has some precious information as well, as it contains lots of sebum, which contains numerous biochemical signals. The researchers have also discovered that the actual act of kissing increases the bond between two people. Oxytocin is released when we kiss.
However, when it comes to bad kissing, women and men have a different reaction. The majority of the women have stated that they would not have sex with a man if he would be a bad kisser because they would be turned-off by that fact. However, the men have stated that they would still have sex with a woman who does not know how to kiss. As I said, men stated that they hoped that kissing would lead to sex, and the majority of the women did not agree with this statement. They saw it as a mean of increasing the bond between them, and not as foreplay. The researchers have also discovered that the men are fonder of the wet kisses than the women are. This usually happens in the case when they have a one night stand, or a very short relationship. However, this does not mean that the women do not like those types of kisses, only that they usually prefer the “drier” ones. Hughes stated that the reason why the men like the kisses to be wet is because they make a connection between the wetness of the kiss and the arousal of the woman. Helen Fisher, an anthropologist at Rutgers University, conducted a similar study in 2009.

Hughes stated that the reason for that is that the men can have sex with as many women they want, and leave them pregnant. On the other hand, a woman has to be very careful when she chooses who to have sex with, in case that she gets pregnant. Women want to be as close to the men after sex, they want to cuddle and bond, whereas the men usually get sleepy.
There is a valid explanation for that, and it is not indifference. The researchers have analyzed this behavior as well. Well, in the majority of the cases, the sexual intercourse takes place during the night, and in the bed. It is a physical act, and by the end of it, since you are located in the place where you sleep, you tend to get sleepy. However, it was discovered that during sex, the brain will eliminate the fear and the anxiety, which will male people more relaxed, and thus, it will make sleeping easier. When a man ejaculates, his brain releases a very large number of chemicals, such as: hormone prolactin, norepinephrine, serotonin, oxytocin, vasopressin, and nitric oxide. The reason why the men have to wait a while before they can ejaculate again is because of the hormone prolactin. This hormone indicates the brain that the body has been satisfied from a sexual point of view. These hormones are in higher levels during the night, and it has been discovered that the people who have higher levels of these hormones, get tired much easier.

However, it has been discovered that the brain actually knows the difference between masturbation and sexual intercourse, because after intercourse, the brain releases four times more prolactin than after masturbation. The oxytocin and vasopressin are connected to sleep as well, and they also make one more tired. The researchers also believe that the reason why the men fall asleep much easier after sex than the men do is because the brain shuts them down on purpose, in order to make sure that he will be reenergized after the sleep. In the majority of the cases the woman will sleep with the man when he falls asleep, and this increases the bond between them as well. These are just some of the theories about this subject. Now the researchers want to find out why there are so many men who fall asleep during sex. It has been discovered that 48 percent of the men from a survey which involved 10,000, stated that they have fell asleep during sex at least once.
