Nolan did not want to say who the lead opposing Christian Bale is going to be

Ladies and gentlemen, the title for the third film of the Batman trilogy has been revealed! Yes, director and writer Christopher Nolan decided to talk about the movie just a bit, in an interview given for the Los Angeles Times.

The Dark Knight Rises is the title of the last part of the trilogy and everyone’s really excited to see who will be cast for the movie. Nolan said in the same interview that there will be many of the already known characters in the movie. “We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones,” he said. What new ones?! The director already cast out the possibility of seeing the Penguin and Mr. Freeze and now he also said that the new villain won’t be the Riddler. So who is it going to be then? Maybe it will be Killer Croc or Man-Bat or Black Mask or Gentleman Ghost! We don’t know yet. E! News wrote that rumor has it that Nolan has already started seeing some actresses in their 20s or 30s for one of the key characters. Does The Dark Knight Rises include Catwoman?

We don’t know much, as Nolan is very quiet about it all, but everyone’s very curious to see who’s going to be cast for the movie, as I said. Given the splendid performance of the Joker that the late Heath Ledger brought, the actor who will be cast as the villain will have to make a very big impression on us all. Tom Hardy was said to play one of the leads opposite Christian Bale in the new Batman movie, which is due July 20, 2012.

Anyhow, what we know for sure about the movie is that it’s not going in 3D, as Nolan doesn’t think this is the best choice, so he is decided to use high-definition technology and the IMAX cameras, similar to the eye-popping visuals of The Dark Knight. Probably you remember that The Dark Knight, the film in which Heath Ledger played the best Joker, grossed $1 billion worldwide, third all time just behind two little James Cameron pictures. So, what’s known is that the third part of the Batman flick, The Dark Knight Rises, must .. well.. rise to the expectations! But, as we know Nolan, we won’t be disappointed.
