This is Halloween
Tonight is Halloween, and in order to celebrate it in the proper way, I am going to present you the top ten Halloween scariest creatures. It’s not a surprise that many people decide to costume as these creatures during Halloween. So let’s get things started.
The Goblins became famous thanks to the fairy tales. They are small, furry, and despite their looks they are not too menacing, but rather mischievous. The legends say that the goblins like to spend their time in the forests, pulling pranks on the people who pass through them.
They also like to switch the human babies for their own babies, just for the heck of it. The goblins never caused panic in the medieval times, unlike many of the other creatures presented on the list. The reason for that is that the people might have found them too absurd to be real. Go figure. With a little bit of makeup and some masks you too can become a goblin.
The demons can take many shapes and sizes, from ghost like beings, to a humanoid with horns, and bull legs. The demons have the possibility of possessing a person, making that person do terrible things, such as speaking in certain voices, become extremely violent, and so on. Of course, stories about them are written in the Bible, and they appeared in numerous folklore as well.
Perhaps the most popular of them all is the demon Pazuzu from the movie The Exorcist. That is the demon which possesses Linda Blair, making her to levitate, puke green pea soup, and so on. You could dress as a demon by wearing a certain mask.
The gargoyles are a very interesting piece of art. They are located on cathedrals from all over the world, fascinating people through their beauty and through their frightful appearance as well. It is strange looking at them especially since there are so many stories about gargoyles that come to life. They were first created in the 13th century and they had the task of capturing the rain water, their mouths acting as ejector spouts.
It is said that they were supposed to protect the cathedral from the evil forces which stood outside, wanting to enter. This one might be a bit difficult to pull, you could try wearing some wings, but I would not suggest adding cement on them.
The zombies are extremely popular, as they have presented in hundreds of movies, books, comic books, and so on. The zombies are either persons who have lost their sols, or dead bodies which came back to life. They are known for the fact that they like to eat the brains of the people, and also for the fact that they move extremely slow. It has been discovered that in Haiti there is a certain substance which can make a person go into a zombie state like, in the sense that the pulse of that person is very reduced, and that it can “come back to life” after a certain period of time.
You can easily disguise yourself as a zombie, all you need to do is put a little paint on your face, and wear some stinky and old clothes. Of course, they might mistake you for a hobo.
The werewolves have appeared in numerous cultures from the world including the Greek one. It is said that a werewolf is a man whom turns into a wolf-like creature during full moon. It seems that people from the medieval times saw plenty of them, as they usually formed angry mobs which had the task of killing them. They were blamed for lots of murders which could not be solved, but that was a pretty common custom during those times.
If a witch did not do it, then it must have been a werewolf. Nowadays, they are no longer as popular as they once were, but we can still see them in the movies, the latest one being The Wolf Man with Benicio del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. You can find lots of werewolf suits at specialized stores, or if you have long body hair, you might not even need a costume.
