Top 10 Interesting Natural Phenomena
How about what people call getting back to nature? Are you one of the persons who embrace this idea? You should, mainly because nature gives us unique landscapes all of them meant to delight our senses and sometimes leave us completely stunned in front of the miraculous phenomena that can take place in nature. Not all of these phenomena have answers or at least scientists didn’t manage to find the answer or the cause for which these things continue to take place. We may rightfully say now that Mother Nature can be always surprising and can put on a new coat every day, being each day surprising and never letting go its sometimes mysterious nature.
Here is a list of some of the most weird, yet wonderful and amazing natural phenomena.
This phenomenon clearly proves that life can exist in the most extreme conditions on Earth. It can be found in the unique ecosystem of Antarctica, more exactly at Taylor Glacier where one can see blood-red waterfall pouring very slowly out of it. Being first discovered in 1911, it was initially thought that the red color came from the algae, yet there seems to be more to it, a much more spectacular reason for the rather weird color of the water that pours down each second there. The explanation is to be found in the fact that the small body of water hosts an ancient community of microbes.

Blood Falls
Being hidden behind a thick layer of ice, these microbes continued to live and they do it in their best way-with no oxygen, no light and little heat. They do certainly feel there at home. Coming in combination with the salt and iron that are to be found in the lake, the water comes here in a fiery blood-like reddish color. Is this a wonder of nature? One can certainly refer to this phenomenon using these terms.
Have you ever in your life seen something more wonderful? The phenomenon can be seen most often in the Dry Andes at altitudes above 4000 meters, whenever the mountains are covered in snow. They will surprise you since they can reach heights of up to 6 feet. The explanation is to be found in the strong winds which surprisingly enough manage to bring snow into compact blocks. After this happens the sun comes to complete the god like work, melting these blocks into the shape of blades. Tall, thin blades of snow, this is how they are most often described.

Penitentes
They point towards the sky as if trying to explain to us that it all lies in the divine work of nature. You should all remember this natural unique phenomenon called penitents. Why penitents, you will probably ask yourself? Because it seems that the person who discovered them found some resembling between them and the hats of monks. At least this is what scientists claim to be the explanation.
Isn’t it wonderful the way nature creates its own art making use of light and the sky? The fire rainbow is what many consider to be the most beautiful optical phenomena. If you ever happened to witness such a phenomenon most surely you were not aware that this is how it is called. Being described as a splash of rainbow colors in the sky, as if there was a flam up there, a flame taking all the colors of the rainbow, it has been discovered that it is nothing but a meteorological event. A few conditions have to be fulfilled in order to make possible the appearance of the fire rainbow: the sun has to be up in the sky at a certain altitude as scientists discovered and one should not forget to include there cirrus clouds, essential for being endowed with a large number of plate shaped ice crystals.

Fire rainbow
This phenomenon occurs at a certain moment, being more probable around the summer solstice. The explanation is nevertheless offered by physics as what happens there is made possible due to the refraction of light through ice crystals. Everything seems to be perfectly synchronized since every natural element plays its role in the creation of this unique natural phenomenon. A rare phenomenon and as such even more wonderful. One should probably feel lucky when seeing such a beautiful work of nature as being quite rare and needing excessive preparation it becomes all the more special.
