She is the wife of Bill Clinton, but she gain fame on her own, even though the monstrous scandal with Clinton and Monica Lewinsky is not hard to forget. Still, Hillary Clinton made a name for herself and she even ran for presidency against Barack Obama. Even though she did not win, she became very popular among people in the United States and around the whole world, for that matter.

During the time she was the First Lady, critics were very harsh on her, saying that she should not get involved in politics affairs. However, she did and she has done a wonderful job. She even worked on the Health Care Reform alongside her husband, but they failed to pass the Bill. She was also the United States Senator from New York between 2001 and 2009, and on the 21st of January, 2009 she assumed office as the 67th United States Secretary of State.

Sarah Palin

Sarah Michelle Palin was born on the 11th of February, 1964, in Sandpoint, Idaho. During the last presidential elections, she was chosen by Republican Party presidential candidate John McCain to be his running mate. She became very famous in the last few years due to the controversy related to her thoughts on Obama’s Health Care Bill, plus she became associated with the Tea Party Movement. Moreover, rumors had it that she will run for President in 2012.

Although most people have no good thoughts about Sarah Palin and her way of handling political stuff, she became very famous and she still maintains this position. She was the mayor of Wasilla, from 1996 to 2002 and on the 4th of December, 2006 took office as the 9th Governor of Alaska, until the 26th of July, 2009. Moreover, she even knew how to make use of the media, so she even had her own reality show – Sarah Palin’s Alaska – and she even wrote an autobiography – Going Rogue: An American Life -, which became very famous and soon a bestseller, as it sold more than 2 million copies.

Barack Obama

Barack Hussein Obama was born on the 4th of August, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the currently 44th President of the United States of America and he took office on the 20th of January, 2009. Aside of the fact that he is the first African American to ever hold office as President of the U.S., Obama has become famous also due to his works as President. He became very popular among people, during the time of the presidential elections and his campaign was one of the best. People enjoyed his speeches and thus, they elected him the 44th President.

Controversial discussions were made not only on his Health Care Reform Plan, but also on his name, which is a bit weird, to be honest. There were some who called him a socialist and there where others who sustained his cause and keep doing it. He is, nonetheless, one of the most people in the world. Before being President of the United States, Barack Obama was a member of the Illinois Senate between 1997 and 2004, and then he took office as a United States Senator from Illinois between 2005 and 2008. No to mention that he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009. If that doesn’t make you famous around the whole world, I don’t know what does.

Bill Clinton

William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton was born on the 19th of August, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas. He served as the 42nd President of the United States between 1993 and 2001.  It seems that being the President of the U.S. was not enough for him, so he his fame sky-rocketed when the affair he was having with Monica Lewinsky became public. But things turned out fine in the end, and he became one of the most famous politicians. Plus, during his time as President, everything was peaceful and quiet and the economy was prosperous.

Furthermore, the man served his country well as the 50th Arkansas Attorney General between 1977 and 1979, then as the 40th and 42nd Governor of Arkansas, between 1979 and 1981 and between 1983 and 1992. Bottom line, although there has been this scandal in which he was involved, for people did not seem to mean a lot, as he is one of the most popular Presidents the United States has had.

#6
Richard Nixon

As you could see in the article with the worst politicians of the United States, Nixon is famous not for doing good things, but because he was involved in the Watergate scandal. Of course, he was President and that gain him some fame, but being involved in such a monstrosity of a scandal, assures you a place in the “hall of fame” for sure.

Moreover, his “I am not a crook” speech is legendary and it is probably his trademark. He may have done some good things also, but when you are such a corrupt politician, no one will remember how good you were, but only your felonies will stay forever in history.
