Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan first met on the set of “Family Ties.” The two got married in 1988 and they have four children together. But, in the early 1990s Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson disease. Although the diagnosis was made in 1991, Fox revealed the truth about his condition to the public in 1998. The star semi-retired from acting in 2000 as the symptoms of his disease worsened and dedicated himself to activism for research in finding a treatment for this condition.
Although the couple faced many problems, they lasted together because, according to their own statements they were raised by parents who set a good example for them to follow. “For us, it has been normal to stay together through difficulties,” Tracy Pollan said in 2002. “We grew up witnessing that firsthand,” Fox’s 50 years old wife added. ”When we married, we married – and that was it,” the 49 years old actor told O magazine. “We were in love then, as we are now, and we planned to stay married.” And they stood married for more than 22 years.
Who would have imagined that Ozzie Osbourne would make a devoted husband? But, the famous singer and his wife Sharon have been married for 28 year. Sharon met Ozzie when she was only 17 years old, the singer’s band, Black Sabbath, being managed by her father. The two married in 1982. Well, this couple has survived many not so happy events including Ozzie’s serious quad bike accident and different lawsuits over fans’ suicides. But, the couple remained together despite Ozzie’s drug and alcohol addiction, his drunken strangling of Sharon and subsequent arrests. Sharon got arrested herself for drunk driving.
Ozzie Osbourne also participated in a reality show, “The Osbournes,” with his whole family and of course his wife. But, the 61 years old rocker and Sharon, aged 57, never seemed to have been affected in their marriage by any of those issues, although their marriage hasn’t been one without troubles and violence. What made them stay together? Well, according to Ozzie the secret to staying married is protective gear. When they have a fight, he says, he gets “a good crash helmet on my head. When she gets pissed off, I really go up in the air.”
