For some celebrity couples love couldn't last

Celebrities and their personal lives have always preoccupied fans and relationships between famous people, weddings, divorces or breakups are most of the times very interesting topics for the media.
People are always interested in celebrities and what they are doing and there is no wonder why their private lives are not actually private, although some manage to keep their relationships away from the public, but usually, only for brief time. Well, some relationships seem perfect and when the couples announce their separation, it can really come as a shock. However, here are the most famous all time breakups, as they were presented in a Time.com top 10.

#10
Courteney Cox and David Arquette

Although they announced publicly their separation this week, Courteny Cox and David Arquette have lived separately for months now. Until they made public the fact that their marriage is not working anymore, Courteney Cox and David Arquette seemed like a perfect Hollywood couple. However, they released an official statement announcing they have decided for trial separation, after 11 years of matrimony.

“We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply,” the actors said in the statement.

Well, the trial separation could go either way: the couple can get divorced or they can get back together. However, if the opt for a permanent and final separation and end up divorced, things could get a little bit complicated for Courteney Cox and David Arquette because the Hollywood stars are also business partners, founding Coquette Productions in 2004. The couple has a 6 years old daughter.

#9
Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher

The divorce of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher was not only shocking, but it was also one of the biggest scandals of the 1950s when it comes to celebrities and their relationships. Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher married in 1955. The couple had three children, actress Carrie Fisher being one of them. However, Eddie divorced his wife in 1958 and Debbie found herself in the middle of a huge scandal because her husband left her to marry Elisabeth Taylor, one of her best friends.

The story gets even more complicated as Elisabeth Taylor and Eddie Fisher made public their relationship after the famous actress’s husband died in a plane crash. Mike Todd and Eddie Fisher were also best friends. So, just a few hours after his divorce was final, Eddie married Elisabeth Taylor, although their marriage didn’t last for long.

#8
Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen

The notion of “celebrity scandals” was changed by Charlie Sheen. The actor and his wife had everything they could possible have linked to their separation: restraining orders, death threats, substance abuse, prostitution and having under consideration the many scandals in which Charlie Sheen was involved, the list can go on. Well, we have to mention that the actor’s third marriage since 2008 to Brooke Mueller makes no exception, as Charlie has been accused by Brooke of attacking her with a knife.

However, Denise Richards was the one to file for divorce from Charlie Sheen in 2006 when she was still pregnant with the couple’s second child. Denise claimed that Sheen had been abusive with her, saying that the actor is addicted to gambling, drugs, prostitution and pornography. On the other hand, Sheen denied all allegations, but this separation, the divorce and the custody battle remain one of the worse and actually one of the ugliest court battles Hollywood has ever witnessed.

#7
Mike Tyson and Robin Givens

Mike Tyson and Robin Givens were married for just eight months until they filed for divorce. The famous boxer and his actress wife looked like a happy couple, but for brief time. The divorce was linked to domestic violence accusations and their marriage, before the split, was characterized as “pure hell.”

However, Robin Givens was the one to file for divorce a month after an interview with Barbara Walters on national television in 1988, in which Robin talked about the way things turned out to be for her as a married woman. On the other hand, Mike Tyson asked for the marriage to be annulled because, he said, Robin had faked a pregnancy to trap him into marrying her.

#6
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake

There are some beautiful couples that really seem to last forever and the one formed by Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake was definitely one of them. And their breakup came as a shock for everyone, including Justin. In this romance, Britney was the one to end things, and Justin was the one to suffer. He actually wrote a song for his ex-girlfriend, “Cry Me a River,” in which Justin kind of explains what he had gone through. “You don’t have to say what you did. I already know. I found out from him.” Well, the love story ended in 2002 and rumors indicated that Britney had cheated on her boyfriend, although she never admitted it. Anyway, Justin said it all in his song and video, called by Spears a “desperate attempt.”

But, who turned out doing better when it comes to love life after all? Britney who married and divorced Kevin Federline and is still fighting to gain her career and life back after a hard divorce and a career that got to be dominated by scandals and abuse, or Justin who dated Hollywood stars such as Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel, actually managing to maintain his success and career away of scandals and troubles.
