Tropical storm heading for the cost of China, more flooding

The Chanthu tropical storm which decreased in intensity is heading for the south of China where already rains and big floods that destroys the area. The Council of China said that the situation is very grim. The local authorities are being pressured by the Council to act as quickly as possible to counter the floods.  The rain and the flood situation in China is at alarming states, in the first six months the flooding made 700 casualties and 350 missing.

The tropical storm will bring another 20 inches to half meter of water, said Jenny Harrison Weather Anchor for CNN.

The Chanthu is moving on the direction north northwest and traveling with the speed of five miles per hour. The storm will reach the coast between the cities of Yangjiang and Qionghai City on Thursday evening. The Hong Kong and North Vietnam are not out of harm way because the Chanthu will make his presence felt there to.

The storm is already in Hainan Island creating serious damage with the constant wind velocity of 68 miles per hour and the blows goes to almost 90 miles per hours.

Along the Yangtze River is the most dangerous place where the storm will hit. The region experienced the most violent floods in more than 30 years. The storm is moving to the interior of the continent and will pass through this region where already the Three Gorges Dam’s gates for flooding were opened to control the deluge.

The whole country is fighting with the flood, 27 provinces were flooded, 110 million people were affected and 8 million people were moved to a safer location.

Almost 287, 000 of military units have been sent into related flood operations. The schools should do what they can to assure the safety of the students that learn there.

The passage through Qiongzhou Strait which is situated between the Hainan Island and the Chinese land was interrupted because of the flood.

The residents in the area flooded by the Chanthu are advised to stay in an indoor safe and dry environment and not to encourage outdoor activities, to lock the doors and the windows.
