Unusual trends for wedding parties
Lately couples are using the special moments of their wedding to express more than just their love for each other. Instead of getting married at a church or festivity hall, many couples choose their favorite TV spots or shops as a background for the most special day of their life. The choice ranges from T.J. Maxx to Taco Bell and express the couple’s love for a brand and their desire to have a special wedding with a personal touch. Rebecca Dolgin, the executive editor of theknot.com, says that brides are obsessed with making their weddings ad different as possible and she said that she has heard discussions about Star Wars or Goth theme weddings.
Though retail weddings are still rare, Dolgin says that more and more couples show interest to this kind of planning. Brand loyalty is only one reason for which couples choose to get married in their favorite stores. In many cases, one reason is of economic interest: some couples could save thousands of dollars by holding their wedding in an unconventional location. The Home Depot for example hosted a few weddings in the last year and one of the couples that that said “I do” there were two employees that work and met in the shop. They walked down the aisle set up in the garden department of the Californian store while their family and friends watched.
