Walk of Fame Festival in Canada
Every actor, director or musician, every artist desires to be famous while alive, not only after death, as it used to happen with misunderstood geniuses. They all try their best and are very happy when their work is being recognized as art or as a success. This recognition of their works usually happen when they are awarded different prizes in various famous ceremonial festivals and shows. Oscars, Festivals in Cannes or Venice, Music Awards they all try to give artists a little bit of the fame and recognition they deserve. However, in the industry of film-making recognition comes when actors or directors or people in the film industry are given their own star on the Walk of Fame.
Hollywood Walk of Fame is wide known throughout the world, bu there is a similar boulevard in Toronto as well and every year new stars are being designated for different artists in the industry of film making. This year the ceremony is held between October 14-16 and marks the ending of the Canadian Walk of Fame Festival. The three day festival gathers together actors, directors and producers who are all trying to bring with them fresh ideas in the industry of Canadian movies.
The festival is a debut, however the walk of fame ceremony has reached its 13th anniversary and this year premiere honors over 50 Canadian musicians, artists, filmmakers, actors and comedians. There are also Canadian new comers who are gong to appear in different shows, along with veterans in the artistic world. The events taking place during the festival includes both ticketed and free shows, good music and a lot of fun at various locations in Toronto. The headline of the festival are Burton Cummings and Paul Anka who will perform shows at Massey Hall, but they are not the only famous actors and musicians present here. The Juno Award-winning songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie and newcomers Silver Creek also perform during the festival, in various locations, such as: Massey Hall, Elgin Theatre Centre, Yonge-Dundas Squareand, Yonge Street Red Carpet Stage among other downtown places.
The event however does not only include musicians and actors of every film genre but it also features another very important event: the Canadian Comedy Awards and Festival, between October 14-18. There are going to be over 130 comedians and artists who are going to perform for the audience and will also provide workshops to them. The Award ceremony for the Best Canadian Comedy will take place at Winter Garden Theatre.
However, the Walk of Fame festival will be the best of the best for Toronto, as the inductees include: David Clayton-Thomas, Eric McCormack, Nelly Furtado, Farley Mowat, Doug Henning, Sarah Polley and Clara Hughes. The induction will be broadcast live on Global TV, so that no matter where you are, you should not miss this important gala.
Film industry is one of the most wide spread around the world and every artist that succeeds in having a star of their own shows the whole world that they have finger printed this industry in an unique way.
