If when the separation of Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Tish has been first made public it wasn’t really certain if the two are getting divorced or not, it seems that there is no way for Miley’s parents to get back together. Billy Ray Cyrus filed the divorce papers in Williamson Country Chancery Court in Tennessee, People magazine reports.
Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish have been married for 17 years. However, the 49 years old singer cited in the divorce papers “irreconcilable differences.” Billy Ray and his 43 years old wife have three children together. Tish also has two kids from a previous marriage, Trace and Bradi, whom Billy Ray adopted. Us Weekly reported that Billy Ray is seeking the shared custody of the children and an equitable division of the couple’s assets.
According to the Associated Press the divorce papers were filed on Friday. “We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers,” the couple said in a statement. Although it’s not a surprise that Miley’s father filed for divorce because the couple already announce the separation, things are now final.
Miley Cyrus, the star of the family, will turn 18 in a few weeks, so, the custody of the superstar is not actually a problem in the divorce case, but how is the young singer dealing with her parents’ separation is another issue. Different reports and mostly tabloids articles said, according to the Associated Press, that Miley is the one to blame for the divorce because of her career and behaviors.
