Woods Eager on BMW Open
After a loaded year, former world champion Tiger Woods declared he cannot wait for the BMW Open which is set to begin soon on September 6 in Lemont. Once his divorce was finalized, Woods started to look the same old ‘tiger’ from the past to be even selected for the US Ryder Cup team. He’s now eager to come back at the BMW Open, the championship where he won so many times. He’s got a remarkable play especially in the recent tournaments, including the FedEx Cup where Woods showed his best golf of the season.
“It’s always nice to come back to a venue that I’ve won but also I’ve won it multiple times and in different ways. I can always kind of go back to that no matter how I’m playing. I can still figure out a way to get it done.” The American is winless in the first 11 starts, but he finished in a tie for the 12th at the Barclays and 11th at the Deutsche Bank Championship, the place where he realized three consecutive rounds in the 60s for the first time this season. Woods also revealed these days that he is coached by Canadian Sean Foley. With lot of confidence gained during the recent tours, the golfer claimed he’s ready to face now every big championship. “Obviously the confidence is coming up … I’ve put a lot of hard work into it. That’s been nice to see the progress, to be able to go out there and hit the golf ball the way I know I can, know the fixes and understand the concept,” this added.

However, with Foley in the back, Woods feels his performance is about to get higher and higher and he’s also about to rebuild what he has lost over the last months. Woods joined last week the US Ryder Cup team, being chosen by Corey Pavin. “I waited and waited and waited. Obviously I was pleased to see him start playing better. Did I ever have any doubt? I didn’t really think about it very much. I was just waiting and watching,” this said of selecting Woods, while the player declared honored to be part of it after a long time. “It’s great to be part of this team – I’m honored to get over to Wales to go and represent the USA in the Ryder Cup. I’m looking forward to going over and having a great time with the team, and hopefully bringing the Cup back. A couple of months ago I was trying to make the team on points, but I didn’t. The last two events I played, I played much better and here we are. I think my game is not that far away,” Woods added.11
